Previously, I wrote a post: business online making easy money? On the last section of services "Advertising" I mentioned that you can do your e-business only by writing about things you want or like most.

Nowadays you may find a ridiculous amount of blogs and websites trying to teach people how to make money online by blogging. The funniest thing is that most of these bloggers do not have any clue about the subject and they are trying to make money online teaching others how to make money online when they have never earned a penny from their blogs, fortunately they are good sources that can teach you the topic. You may find good resources like ProBlogger that gives very good types about blogging.

There is no formula for monetizing your blog or website, in fact is very simple. There's a lot of services that gives you the opportunity to earn money by affiliating with them, companies that usually works like intermediates between an advertiser and the publisher. Just to give some examples:

There are a lot more of these companies, I will give you a more detailed list at the end of this article. Here is the main idea To start monetizing you website or blog you only need to sign up with any affiliate program and follow their instructions; most of them will give you a HTML code for paste it on your website and is just a matter of time to start earning money. Sounds pretty good! hu! But the real fact is that after you sign up to an affiliate program and paste the HTML into your blog or website you will get nothing. Why? because there are very important elements and factors to keep in mind when trying to monetize our blog where the most important is The Amount of interested visitors your blog or website has by day commonly named TARGETED TRAFFIC

Content

First: content, as many SEO Experts said: “content is the king” content is the matter of all blog and website, content is the reason of why people visit your website. If you do not have content you will never get visitors or if you already had they will never come back. A good advice is: write unique quality content.

Relevance

Relevance determines what your blog all about is. Target your audience, write only about a specific topic; many bloggers and webmasters made this big mistake they write about anything, one day they are writing about the new iPod and technology, other day they are writing about politics and so on. Traffic is the big tamale of online businesses if your website or blog do not have traffic you will never have revenue from your ads placed on the pages. How to get traffic: There are many ways to have traffic, the best traffic is from search engines and also you can get traffic from social networks like digg, stumbleupon, delicious among others, but it depend the niche of your website.

I want to share a good advice about social networks and all that stuff and I am saying this by experience: If your website or blog is about anything related to blogging or how to make money online or SEO you may have good traffic from social networks otherwise you will get nothing from them, social networks is for internet savvy users that usually have a blog, website or any space on internet also usually social network users knows all about e-business or at least know how an ad looks like so they are looking information related to blogs, SEO and related stuff so if your blog is not related to SEO, blogging or teaching others how to earn money online then concentrate on search engines.

Other way to get traffic is advertising on other websites or blogs. There is a service called entrecard where you sign up and place a widget on your blog, this widget is an ad spot for other bloggers where they can advertise on your blog and the price is entrecard credits, also, you can advertise on other blogs. I don't really recommend it, it make you waste time.

Methods to monetize your blog and website

Becoming a publisher by registering to advertising programs:

This is the most common way and the most effective to make easy money online, I really recommend it. There are several advertising programs around, as I said before, you just need to register and they provide you a HTML code that you embed in your web pages.

The most recommended are:

Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, Clicksor, IntelliTXT, YPN, Adbrite, ProjectWonderFul, WidgetBanks.

The most commonly used is Google Adsense because of its large coverage and its ability to adapt their ads to the site's content also it provides several ad formats.You can get huge profits with this system, and for those skeptics I just say that it really works. The disadvantage is that they are too stringent, they can cancel your account if violate any of their terms of service. Basically, Google Adsense method works on pay-per-click, for example google will pay you for each click that visitors make to the ads you placed, however you can not and you should not click on ads on your page. That is part of their TOS.

Owning an ad service program:

This option is pretty useful especially when your web site gets a lot of traffic. You can sell ad space where other sites will want to advertise, this is a freer way to make money online because you are not restricted to any TOS and the best part is that you can setup your prices.

Writing reviews about products with your blog: This is a pretty good method especially if you have enough time, anyway, this method works when you write a review about a product or service, then you get paid for that. They are some Review programs, for example: reviewme.com which pays you from 20 dollars to 200 dollars per review. You can do several reviews per month.

Directories: Having a web directory can be a way to make money online, this method works selling links. The truth, I do not recommend this method is already very outdated and also selling links is forbidden by search engines. They may ban you and remove your blog from their index.
